It's a beautiful area--a highlight was being able to see the Melbourne skyline from across the bay--but I wouldn't say it's super strong on wines. We were there on Easter, and while many of the wineries don't have cellar door openings frequently and were certainly closed, the places we tried to stop at up in Port Arlington either made you pay to taste the wines (why would I want to do that? I'm not trying to get drunk, I'm trying to buy a bottle to enjoy later...) or the stock was petite. I would certainly go back, but not just for a 'wine tasting' experience.
